CryoPaint Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty replaces the Product Warranty section previously published at cryox.co/terms-of-service. If anything in our Terms of Service conflicts with this Limited Warranty on a warranty matter, this Limited Warranty controls.

1. What this warranty covers

Cryo X Co warrants that when CryoPaint is applied at a rate of 1 oz per square foot or more, following the surface preparation steps in the CryoPaint Application Guide, over a white primer, to a cleaned, dry, sky-facing, well-draining roof on a covered structure (see Section 3), the paint will remain physically attached to that surface for the coverage period stated in Section 3, barring an extreme weather event as defined in Section 7.

This warranty covers physical adhesion only. It does not cover or guarantee any level of cooling performance, temperature reduction, reflectivity, emissivity, appearance, color, or gloss. A coating that remains attached has met this warranty, regardless of how it looks or performs.

CryoPaint adheres to many other materials, including bare metal, concrete, masonry, EPDM and TPO membranes, asphalt roll roofing, wood, fiberglass, and most plastics. Adhesion to those materials, and any application made without a white primer, is not covered by this warranty, and we make no warranty of any kind as to how long CryoPaint will last or how it will perform on them.

CryoPaint is a cooling coating, not a waterproofing or roofing membrane. It does not seal leaks, bridge cracks, or stop water intrusion. Nothing in this warranty covers leaks, water entry, or any resulting damage.

2. When coverage starts and what the period means

The coverage period is measured from the date of purchase shown on your proof of purchase. To be covered, CryoPaint must be applied within 12 months of the date of purchase and before the end of its shelf life. Coverage applies one time to the original coat from that purchase. It is not extended, reset, or renewed by touch-ups, maintenance coats, or reapplication.

A surface that is still coated and free of the adhesion failure described in Section 1 at the end of the period has met this warranty, regardless of how the coating looks or performs.

3. Covered structures and coverage periods

This warranty applies only to sky-facing roofs on the structures listed below, and only when a white primer was used.

Buildings and stationary structures, up to 5 years. Sky-facing roof surfaces on permanently sited or stationary structures of any size, including site-built homes, manufactured and mobile homes, tiny homes, sheds, outbuildings, shipping containers and other stationary container structures, and large flat-roof buildings.

RV roofs, up to 2 years. Sky-facing roof surfaces of recreational vehicles, meaning motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and campers. Coverage applies only to the specific vehicle to which CryoPaint was originally applied, is subject to the RV exclusions in Section 7, and ends if the coated roof or panel is repaired, replaced, resurfaced, or refinished. The shorter term reflects the road, vibration, and weather exposure an RV roof experiences.

Not covered. Any surface that is not a sky-facing roof on one of the structures above, any application made without a white primer, and any off-label or non-typical use. This includes, without limitation: vertical walls and the sides of RVs and trailers; road vehicles other than recreational vehicles, such as cars, trucks, vans, buses, and motorcycles; watercraft and aircraft; drones and other unmanned platforms; cargo, utility, and other non-recreational trailers; fleet and mobile equipment; containers or structures while in transit; clothing, apparel, wearables, and skin; interior surfaces; and any experimental, prototype, or demonstration use. Applying CryoPaint to any of these is at your own risk and carries no warranty of any kind.

Custom or industrial projects may be covered under different terms only by a written agreement signed by Cryo X Co.

4. What this warranty does not cover (performance)

This warranty does not cover, promise, or guarantee any level of performance. Excluded items include, without limitation: cooling effect, surface or interior temperature reduction, performance below air temperature, solar reflectivity, emissivity, energy or cost savings, color, gloss, dirt pickup, staining, chalking, fading, and appearance.

Radiative cooling performance can decline over time as the surface soils and weathers. Restoring performance is done with a maintenance or touch-up coat at the owner's expense and is not a warranty event. A coating that remains adhered but no longer performs to your expectations is not a defect under this warranty.

5. Conditions you must meet

Coverage applies only if all of the following are true:

  • A white primer was used.
  • The surface was a sky-facing roof on a covered structure listed in Section 3.
  • The coated surface was sky-facing and well-draining, with no standing or ponding water remaining more than 48 hours after rain or snowmelt.
  • Any existing leaks, damage, rust, or failing coating were repaired before CryoPaint was applied. CryoPaint was not used to cover or hold together a failing surface.
  • Surface preparation and application followed the CryoPaint Application Guide as described in Section 6.
  • The minimum application rate was met: 1 oz / sq ft when sprayed, or 1¼ oz / sq ft total when rolled. A 3/8-inch nap roller lays down about 0.3 oz / sq ft per coat, so rolling takes at least 3.5 coats, 30 to 45 minutes apart, to meet the rolled minimum. Cryo X Co evaluates application rate in ounces per square foot, not dry film thickness.
  • CryoPaint was applied to a clean, dry surface within the temperature and humidity range in the Application Guide, using genuine CryoPaint that had not frozen and had not passed its shelf life, and that was not tinted, diluted, mixed, or otherwise altered.
  • The product was genuine CryoPaint purchased from Cryo X Co or an authorized reseller.
  • Reasonable maintenance was performed, meaning the coating received at least one non-abrasive rinse per year. Natural rainfall counts as a rinse. A garden hose rinse or a low-pressure wash with the nozzle kept at least 3 feet from the surface also qualifies.

If you cannot produce a complete application record, we will still review your claim using photographs, purchase records, and a physical sample or inspection. A missing record by itself does not void coverage. The burden is on you to show the conditions above were met.

6. Which Application Guide version applies

We judge your installation against the CryoPaint Application Guide as it existed on your date of purchase. If we later add or tighten a requirement, that newer requirement will not be used to deny a claim for a coating that was applied before we published the change. We keep dated records of changes to the Guide.

7. Exclusions

This warranty does not cover damage or failure from:

  • Abrasive damage of any kind. CryoPaint is highly susceptible to abrasive damage, which voids this warranty.
  • Standing or ponding water that remains on the surface more than 48 hours after rain or snowmelt. Normal exposure to rain and weather is expected for an exterior coating and is not a basis for exclusion.
  • Extreme weather events, which for this warranty means hail, tornadoes, hurricanes, sandstorms, wind-driven debris, wildfire, flood, earthquake, and similar events outside normal weather for the location.
  • Improper cleaning, including abrasive scrubbing or high-pressure washing at close range.
  • Application below the minimum rate in Section 5.
  • Failure to follow the surface preparation guidelines, including failure to use a white primer.
  • Substrate defects, movement, settling, rust, or moisture from behind the coating.
  • Loss of adhesion caused by the shedding, detachment, or loss of surface granules or other substrate surface layers, including the mineral granules on asphalt shingles. A coating bonded to a surface layer that detaches goes with that layer. This is a substrate failure, not a coating failure.
  • Coatings or sealers applied over or under CryoPaint that are not approved in the Application Guide.
  • Failures originating at seams, fasteners, penetrations, edges, flashings, or moving joints rather than within the field of the coating.
  • Leaks, water intrusion, or any resulting damage.
  • Pre-existing conditions, or any surface that was leaking, damaged, or failing before application.
  • Impact, foot traffic, vandalism, fire, or chemical exposure.
  • Product that was tinted, diluted, mixed, frozen, used past its shelf life, not genuine, or not bought through Cryo X Co or an authorized reseller.
  • Any off-label or non-typical use described in Section 3.

For RV roofs, this warranty also does not cover damage from road debris and stone chips; impact from tree branches or overhead obstructions; awnings, racks, antennas, vents, or other accessories and their attachment points; flex, vibration, or wind stress from highway travel; collision or rollover; road tar and tree sap; and automated or high-pressure vehicle washes.

This warranty also does not cover normal wear, cosmetic changes, soiling, or loss of reflectivity from environmental exposure.

8. Your sole and exclusive remedy

If a claim is approved, your sole and exclusive remedy is replacement CryoPaint material, provided free of charge, in an amount sufficient to recoat only the specific area where the coating has lost adhesion. We replace only the missing or failed area, not the entire roof and not areas that remain attached. A small area of failure on a larger roof entitles you only to material for that small area.

Cryo X Co does not provide or pay for labor, installation, removal, surface preparation, equipment, access, or reapplication. You are responsible for arranging and paying an installer, or for reapplying the material yourself, and for all other costs. We do not provide cash refunds under this warranty.

9. Defective product on delivery

If your CryoPaint arrives defective, for example it will not cure properly or is contaminated, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will replace the affected product at no charge. This is your remedy for a defective shipment. It does not include cash refunds, labor, or reapplication.

10. How and when to file a claim

Email jordan@cryox.co on or before the last day of your coverage period. Claims submitted after the coverage period ends will not be accepted. Include your proof of purchase, a description and photographs of the affected area, the approximate size of the affected area, and your application details, meaning the method used and the ounces per square foot applied. We may request a physical sample or an inspection.

We review claims in good faith. If we deny a claim and you disagree, you may submit additional evidence for a second review. Any legal action relating to this warranty must be filed within one year after we deny a claim.

11. Limitation of liability and implied warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cryo X Co is not liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages, including property damage, loss of use, or lost savings. Total liability under any theory will not exceed the purchase price of the CryoPaint giving rise to the claim.

Any implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the coverage period that applies to your surface under Section 3.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the limitations above may not apply to you.

12. This is the entire warranty

This Limited Warranty is the complete and exclusive warranty for CryoPaint and replaces any prior statement, whether on our websites, in advertising, on packaging, or made by any person. Statements about cooling, savings, or performance in our marketing are general descriptions, are not part of this warranty, and are not a promise of any specific result. No employee, dealer, or reseller may change this warranty.

13. Transfer

This warranty extends to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. For an RV roof, coverage is tied to the original purchaser and the original vehicle.

14. Changes

Cryo X Co may update this warranty at any time without notice. The version in effect on your date of purchase governs your purchase, and changes apply only to purchases made after that change.

15. Severability

If any part of this warranty is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

16. Governing law and venue

This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to this warranty will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Cryo X Co waive any right to a jury trial and agree that any claim will be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as part of any class or representative action.

This is a Limited Warranty. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
